World Book Day took place while we were still in lockdown this year, and we were so disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy the event in the usual way.

All has not been lost however as this week we held our very own Laurus Cheadle Hulme Book Week.

We have welcomed a terrific selection of writers to school for a series of virtual visits including author and filmmaker Soman Chainini, award-winning hip hop artist Karl Nova, poet Olivia Mulligan and author Tom Palmer.

It has been a brilliant week, topped off in style by some eye-catching costumes worn by our staff. They dressed up as characters from well-known books including Matilda, 101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan. Take a look at our gallery below and see how many you recognise.
