Uniform

It is our policy that all Laurus Cheadle Hulme students wear uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours. Our uniform policy is based on the notion that school uniform:

promotes a sense of pride in the school
engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school
is practical and smart
identifies students with the school
is fair, makes students feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance, and removes peer pressure to dress in ‘designer’ fashions
is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents/carers
can assist identification of strangers on school premises
is designed with health and safety in mind

Uniform Requirements

Blazer – grey blazer with LCH logo
White shirt – long or short sleeved, with pointed collar. Shirts must be tucked in at all times
LCH tie
Cardigan/jumper – v-necked, plain, grey, long-sleeved cardigan or jumper
Plain black shoes – trainers and boots are not acceptable, nor is canvas footwear Shoes must be practical and formal, not fashion items
Tartan boxed pleated skirt – skirts must not be rolled
Grey trousers – students are not permitted to wear a second pair of trousers or shorts under their school trousers.

- Trousers must be tailored; neither tight nor baggy, nor excessively flared; not denim or corduroy
Black socks – with trousers
Black or grey plain opaque tights – must be worn with skirts. In the Summer Term, students are not required to wear tights. Instead, students can wear plain black or grey ankle length socks
Religious headwear – must be plain black or plain white
House T-shirt – to be purchased via the school

PE Kit

Black polo shirt – embroidered school crest
Black shorts or skort – plain with no third-party branding or logo. School logo embroidered versions are available but not compulsory
- Shorts must be of an appropriate length and style. Cycling/hot pant shorts are not deemed an appropriate style
Black sports socks or white ankle/trainer socks
Astroturf trainers with pimpled soles (compulsory) – This type of footwear can be worn on all surfaces within the PE Department at LCH
LCH games Jersey (optional)
LCH fleece (optional)
Plain black polyester tracksuit bottoms (optional)
Black black polyester fitness leggings (optional)
