Timetables & Equipment

Please find the overview of dates for examinations this academic year. 

Internal Exams

Y9 Spanish Mock Written exams – 24-27 November 2026

Y11 Mock Exams (All subjects) – 1-17 December 2026

Y9 Second Spanish Mock Written Exams – 1-3 February 2027

Y9 & Y11 Mock MFL Speaking Exams – 8-12 February 2027

Y11 Mocks (English & Maths only)- 22-26 February 2027

External Exams

Year 11 GCSE External Practical Exams will take place between January & April 2027 

Y9 & Y11 External MFL Speaking Exams will take place in April 2027.

(Specific dates for practical and speaking exams will be communicated by subject teachers in due course).

Year 11 & Year 9 Summer External GCSE & BTEC Written Exams will take place between 5 May – 23 June 2027

Information about internal examinations is communicated to students in school and sent out to parents/carers by email. Individual student timetables and seating for both internal and external examinations can be found on the Exam Timetable section in the MCAS App and on the Student Portal.

Exam Contingency Date Information – Summer 2027

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has designated Wednesday 23 June as the single contingency day for the summer 2027 examination series. Candidates are expected to remain available for examinations up to and including this date, as it is reserved for national or significant local disruption to exams in the UK.

Equipment for Exams

In Year 9, all students are expected to bring two black pens to their Languages exams. 

In Year 11, all students are expected to bring a scientific calculator and the following equipment in a clear, see-through pencil case to all their exams (including internal/mock examinations): 

  • Two black pens 
  • Pencil 
  • Ruler 
  • Eraser 
  • Compass 
  • Protractor 

These items can be purchased using Bromcom. Students should contact their Head of Year or the Mathematics department if they are having trouble obtaining the above equipment.  

Please note: Water bottles are allowed, however, they must be see-through, have no writing and have labels removed.

Prohibited Items

The following are not allowed in exams:

  • No mobile phones (must be switched off and left in bag in cloakroom)
  • No watches or smart watches, smart glasses, AirPods or similar, or any web-enabled devices.
  • No items or papers in pockets.
