We’re extremely proud of Laurus Cheadle Hulme student Esther who has had an article published in the award-winning current affairs magazine The Week Junior.

Esther was inspired to write a news piece about ‘Fast Fashion’ and its impact on the environment after seeing a Stacey Dooley documentary. Discovering that fashion was one of the most polluting industries in the world, Esther wanted to spread the message about the damaging effects of mass-produced clothing, which are made cheaply and disposed of quickly.

She had the idea of submitting an article to The Week Junior, which is read by 90,000 families every week, and the news team were so impressed with Esther’s writing that they decided to publish it.

The future of the environment is something that Esther is extremely passionate about and she has combined this with her love of English to raise awareness of an incredibly important issue.

We’re delighted for Esther and her fantastic achievement, and with such important subjects being discussed and shared amongst young people, we’re confident that the future of the planet is in safe hands.
