Students at Laurus Cheadle Hulme are celebrating a record-breaking set of results. The 2026 GCSE results are the school’s best-ever outcomes across all measures.
An incredible 70% of Year 11 students achieved the gold-standard grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, beating last year’s record-setting results.
As well an impressive headline figure, 84% of students secured a grade 4 in English and Maths. There was further success across all subjects, with 44% of all grades awarded being at grade 7 or above.
We are also celebrating the success of our Year 9 students, who achieved excellent results in their Spanish GCSEs. An astounding 50% earned a grade 7 or above, while 90% achieved at least a grade 4. These outcomes represent another record-setting year for the school.
These brilliant results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of Year 11 and Year 9 students, alongside the commitment of the staff who supported them throughout their studies.
John Peet, Head of School, said:
“We are so proud of what our Year 9 and Year 11 students have achieved. It has been amazing to share the morning with so many happy students. These fantastic GCSE results reflect the effort, commitment and consistency shown during their time with us. I’d like to thank our staff for always going above and beyond, and our parents and carers for working in partnership with us.
“We’re proud of every student and wish them all the very best as they take their next steps, whether that’s continuing within a Laurus Trust Sixth Form or exploring new opportunities. These results will undoubtedly open many doors and create exciting opportunities for their futures.”
