Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Karl Nova back to Laurus Cheadle Hulme.
Karl Nova is an award-winning Hip Hop artist, author and poet from London.
He came in to perform and deliver some creative writing workshops with students.
The day started with an amazing performance for the whole of Year 8 which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Later in the day, some students were invited to take part in poetry crafting workshops.
During the workshops, students created their own poetry using some of Karl’s favourite methods.
After perfecting their lines, they performed their poetry to each other – poetry slam style!
Whilst on site, Karl met with many different students from across the year groups and discussed his love of reading with them.
He also shared some insights from his own experiences as a writer, which students found fascinating.
We’d like to thank Karl for inspiring our students and showing them how to use poetry as a form of artistic expression.
